After a stroke
Stroke can have many different effects. These include problems with mobility, swallowing, bladder and bowel function, vision, communication, tiredness, memory and concentration. It can also affect emotions and can cause depression, anxiety or personality changes. These effects can have a big impact on everyone
'Life after stroke' video series
These videos contain the complete contents of the Life After Stroke series, and Life After Stroke: four inspirational stories of Maori and Pacific people.
Both series are also available on disk if you prefer to have your own copy to watch on your TV.
Prevention is better than cure
It is likely that one out of every five stroke survivors may have another stroke within the next five years. These resources will help improve your chances to avoid a secondary stroke.
Developed by Auckland University of Technology researchers the Stroke Riskometer™ app is a unique and easy to use tool for assessing your individual risk of a stroke in the next five or ten years and what you can do to reduce the risk.
